The launch is part of a strategy that will help boost the development of diploma, master’s and doctoral programs.
A more intelligent and connected experience is offered by the new virtual postgraduate platform of the Universidad Católica del Maule to those interested in professional specialization. The renovation represents an improvement in the management of the programs, which the university promotes through the “Reach your potential” campaign.
“The portal looks better because it delivers information organized according to key points of interest of potential applicants, with modern and friendly graphics, simplified so that you can access more quickly to what you are looking for,” announced UCM’s Postgraduate Director, Marcelo Castillo, who explained that the master’s degrees, diplomas and courses were the first programs to migrate to the website.
“From the perspective of continuity of training, the probability of advancing from a diploma to a master’s degree is greater, since the profile of the participants is closer to professionals in search of updating or specialization. A diploma course is likely to generate concern and interest in advancing in training and is connected to the master’s degree by its practical approach, the potential for employability and professional development, with a broad approach to the needs of the working environment,” added the university authority.
The page postgrados.ucm.cl exhibits another quality: the set of programs, previously fragmented, are found for the first time in one place.
“This site shows the entire proposal, from a professional master’s degree to a very specific course or workshop focused on a specific topic. Those who enter will be able to see which are the disciplinary areas we are developing and where there is a confluence, for example, between master’s and diploma programs,” said the director of Continuing Education of the campus, María José Lacalle.
Unified system
Innovation does not only involve a fresh platform. The application process for the different programs is now centralized. It is a single system, which will improve timely communication.
“There is a process of accompanying the applicants, where they will be contacted if they have any doubts. There will also be a virtual assistant who will be able to interact immediately. It is a new technology that allows a person who left halfway through the process to be contacted and supported until the end of their application,” said UCM’s Director of Admissions, Jorge Acevedo.
“A person’s life cycle does not end with the undergraduate degree. The idea is to help those who wish to progress in a prestigious institution such as the Universidad Católica del Maule”, he added.
