The Universidad Católica del Maule participated in a massive fair in Lima, along with thirteen other institutions belonging to the «Learn Chile» network.
More than six thousand visitors attended the Postgraduate and Continuing Education Fair in Lima, Peru, where the Universidad Católica del Maule (UCM) presented its programs and scholarships.
The event, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Peruvian capital, was attended by eighty national and foreign companies and educational institutions.
«It was the tenth postgraduate exhibition of the Lima Chamber, where Chile participated as guest of honor, through ‘Learn Chile’,» explained Jorge Burgos, general manager of the General Directorate of Outreach and Engagement at the UCM.
«Together with RediPerú, our counterpart in that country, we also held a meeting at the Universidad de Lima, which was attended by the 14 Chilean institutions present here and another 14 Peruvian institutions. This is a very important sign because, with concrete facts, we highlight the willingness of both networks to advance in cooperation ties that favor academic development, the training of our students and, through them, the positive impact we are generating in each of our local communities,» added Burgos, who also directs «Learn Chile».
At the ExpoPostgrados, the public was able to learn about programs tailored to their needs and attend one of the thirty lectures available.
«There was a lot of demand for programs associated with international relations, business, logistics, but also a growing interest in education and sustainability, in response to developments in the countries themselves. The climate crisis and water scarcity are issues that undoubtedly hit us deeply in the region, and when students return to their countries, they become virtuous contacts to work on them,» said the executive.
Born in 2013, «Learn Chile» seeks to boost the internationalization of the national academic offer and promote the country as an excellent destination for international students, under the auspices of ProChile, an entity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The network includes 27 higher education centers.
