The Department of Research in University Teaching (DIDU) at the Universidad Católica del Maule will implement an outdoor conversation space.
The Department of Research in University Teaching of the campus will hold a Scientific Café in the gardens of the Faculty of Education Sciences of the Universidad Católica del Maule (UCM). The idea is to facilitate a space for conversation in a playful and relaxed atmosphere.
«The purpose of the scientific café is to share the process of designing, preparing, and applying for an internal research project, or for applying for external competitive funding, identifying the facilitators and obstacles to the process,» said the director of the DIDU, Aquiles Almonacid.
The event will take place this Thursday, starting at 16:00 hours. «Academics who belong to the University Teaching Research Nucleus and academics from research groups in teacher training and development at the Universidad Autónoma de Chile are invited to participate,» said Almonacid, who also holds a PhD in Physical and Artistic Activity from the University of Extremadura in Spain.
The café will bring together experts from two faculties: Dr Ricardo Souza, Dr Gerardo Sánchez, and Dr Claudio Garrido, from the Faculty of Education Sciences; and Dr Gerardo Chandía, from the Faculty of Health Sciences. «They have experience in project applications and will have a cordial and fraternal dialogue,» said Almonacid.
The Department of Research in University Teaching was created at the end of last year as a unit that depended on the Directorate of Research, with the aim of improving teaching at UCM.
