For the third consecutive time, the highest evaluation body certified the quality of the postgraduate program offered by four campuses, including the Universidad Católica del Maule.
A new four-year accreditation was granted to the Doctorate in Education in Consortium, which the Universidad Católica del Maule (UCM) offers along with three other institutions of higher education in the south-central macro-zone.
The postgraduate program, which will be ten years old in 2025, has nearly forty graduates.
«The accreditation guarantees that this doctorate responds to what the National Accreditation Commission (CNA) and the university ask for and what people aspire to when they enter,» said the program’s director, Dr. Andrew Philominraj.
Since 2017, the CNA has endorsed the quality of the academic teams that collaborate with the postgraduate program, from the UCM as well as from the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción, Universidad Católica de Temuco and the Universidad del Bío-Bío.
«There is a new scenario, where it is not simply a matter of generating knowledge for the sake of generating it, but of encouraging knowledge that responds to the questions of territoriality and how this contributes to the lines of research, which are teacher training and learning and education and interculturality,» added Philominraj.
As the oldest postgraduate program of its kind in Chile, the Doctorate in Education in Consortium is at the forefront of educational innovation, offering its students a global platform to present their work.
«We train advanced human capital for the world from the territoriality and from the region, focusing on themes such as interculturality, native peoples, gender, inclusion and social justice, among others. We are also distinguished by the fact that all the academics focus our productivity on the lines of research of the doctorate, creating a multidisciplinary dynamic,» said the director.
The campuses that offer the program, whose application process is open for next year, belong to the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH).
