The company specialized in academic texts «Springer Publishing» launched a compilation of articles on affectivity and learning, edited by academics from the Universidad Católica del Maule and Universidad del Desarrollo.
A compilation of academic articles, written by 99 researchers, was presented by the U.S. company Springer Publishing, under the leadership of two Chilean experts, who are co-editors of the work. They are professors from the Universidad Católica del Maule and Universidad del Desarrollo, Cristián Cortés and Pablo Fossa, respectively.
The book, entitled «Affectivity and Learning: Bridging the Gap Between Neurosciences, Cultural and Cognitive Psychology», includes forty chapters on affectivity and learning, from an interdisciplinary perspective.
«The book is a survey of the literature on affectivity and learning from different disciplines and contexts. It brings together authors ranging from psychology and cognitive neuroscience to the field of education,» said Cortés, a member of the which belongs to the Talca-based campus.
«The novelty is to emphasize the affective variables that modulate learning, bridging the gap between neuroscience and cultural and cognitive psychology. Affectivity not only catalyzes learning in educational environments, but in all processes of transformation and human development, in all daily learning processes,» he added.
In its first edition, the volume has the participation of authors from thirteen countries, such as Denmark, Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Canada and the United States, offering both theoretical and empirical contributions to researchers who investigate the fields of psychology, neuroscience and education.
«It is an effort of years of collaboration with Dr. Fossa, which brings together authors not only with doctoral careers, but also undergraduate and graduate students. It is a very diverse book,» noted the doctor in Developmental Sciences and Psychopathology.
